This was my attempt at visualizing a cyberpunk scene from an old game's back story text that captured my attention as a teenager. In this story, there was a space pirate who along with a baby were the sole survivors of an ambush on their ship, and he somehow made his way to a planet and was trying to get the baby to safety. Or that's how I remember it. This came from EV Nova (any fans out there?), which was put out by Ambrosia Software, a cool indie game publisher from the 90s - 00s that put out Harry the Handsome Executive, Uplink, Darwinia, and other quirky but fun games. EV Nova was my first space 4X game and it got lots of playtime by me and some friends.

I struggled with colors and stuff but had fun creating the scene and seeing what I could get into 2.5 MB. I was hoping to scale this up more but it ended up with way more frames than I intended and so file size became a challenge. Drawn with pencil tools except a few textures with dithering brushes. Drawn in GBA resolution, 240 x 160, scaled up x2.
