ooohhhh, that nice lead, i didn't know these sounds could come from a master system.
Did you sweep PWM duty cycle or what?

i think the SN76489 can perhaps produce these sounds, but under hardware a lot more beefy than the sms

unfortunately vgmplay playing it isnt enough of an indicator that it works since i think vgmplay targets the chip and not the system

tl;dr id advise against using snoozetracker until working hardware renders exist

Top notch, excellent use of the tracker. I don't know if this needs its own format or not, but I don't care, it's finally made sms bass music more listenable. Time for SMS edm to take flight... lol. Also sms/gg covers/remakes/arrangements will sound so much better. Bring on the hw renders!

Again, nice track. I'm not sure if you could have lowered the volume a bit though on everything except the pcm, to make the drums more audible. Heart magic on point for that ending.

Holy shit that lead is great.

I dare say ST might have some competition with thick sounds like that, so I guess I have some research to do.

I don't really understand the huge hubbub over pushing format limitations and creatively working with the new features you get from platform abuse. It seems like people see more sound choices or techniques as being objectively better than solid composition or creative usage of the 'traditional' limitations of the chip. Or maybe people are just afraid of trying a new tracker/toolset out because it breaks their groove, and they don't want to get left behind? :v

I guess all in all, it comes down to whether or not it'll actually run in hardware, but I feel like even at that point people will still not be progressive towards adopting it as a legitimate tool. Ah well.

Sorry for the essay, nice track JonKaruzu :)

I am tempted to say that this entry violates the category limitations since it does go outside the "3 pulse, 1 noise" limitations that SMS tunes generally have, and I have a hard time seeing how this could be played on real hardware. Furthermore a .vgz is uploaded and not a .sms.

This may have been eligible for SGEN since the Genesis could do sample playback, but not for SMS. I'm not the most knowledgeable guy on those kinds of formats though so hopefully someone else can confirm.

As for the entry itself, it's... alright. I think I prefer your other entries though - all of the sections feel very disconnected and it ends abruptly

haven't seen emulator or hardware playback of snoozetracker modules yet. anyone?
