This game is really neat! It reminds me of Jack Bros. for the Virtual Boy. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish the game..

— HOW TO PLAY —
Each section of Badmoor has a floor that is made of glass. This glass floor can be broken to advance by digging on top of it, but only after Maxwell has already found a gem in that section.
Keep an eye on the Badgers — they'll show little mercy to our plucky hero, but only if they're paying attention to what he's up to. They'll chase him down if they can catch him in their sights.
If Maxwell's feeling a bit beaten up, he'll be able to recover his health if he can come across a handy heart lying around the caverns.
— TIPS FROM THE PROS —
The Badgers are crafty — it's almost as if they have eyes on the back of their heads, so don't think you can sneak behind them without getting caught. They have excellent vision (unlimited sight distance), but only in the four cardinal directions (up, down, left, and right), and they can't see through walls, so if you can hang out in their diagonals, or if you can duck around a corner, you might be able to evade capture. (Every tile that Maxwell can't walk on will block the Badgers' line of sight.)
If a pursuing Badger loses track of Maxwell, it'll spend two more turns moving toward his last known position, and then another two turns scratching his head. During all this time, it can still spot you again if you give it the chance, so be wary! (After it pauses for a moment, the Badger will return to where it began on that floor.)
Some floors of Badmoor have cleverly stationed Badgers, who'll guard the gem or the glass floor. Getting past them won't be easy, but if you know how to mess with their heads, you can lure them out of the places you don't want them. (It can sometimes be advantageous to spend a turn doing nothing but swinging your pickaxe....)
Look before you leap! In some cases, you'll have your choice of glass floors to smash, but the ground below may be less than friendly — Badmoor is home to some brutal spike traps. Try to glimpse the next floor down as well as you can before moving on.
