Lonely Stroll X
At the beginning of the lock down in Germany and France, Hainbach uploaded a sample pack called Isolation Loops. Now this sample pack and the isolation theme induced thoughts about loneliness/solitude, especially what's not not fixed by company, but rather caused by it. It is basically not about so-called "quarantine", but rather an introspective reflection on the impossibility to truly communicate our inner selves. I started a small batch of tracks on this topic, using the sole aforementioned sources, here's one of them.
As previously stated, the set of tracks is not about physical isolation, it's more about the illusion of communication, about imagination, false hopes and disenchantments, the irony, the errors, the discrepancies, the inconsistencies, the discordances, the dissonances, the accidents, happy and otherwise, everything that is lost in translation, in transmission, in conversion, in explanation... etc. The sense we make out of meaningless interactions.
I wouldn't say it's really finished, I'm not really satisfied with it so as usual,

Very lovely! My only negative note is that the buzzing/distorted/lofi timbres in the high registers were a little grating on my ears... Aside from that, this is a really solid composition, and the isolation is a good topic to explore!

we reach a point in our lives where not everything makes sense, but enough things make sense where the responsibility of learning how to exist no longer burdens us. this is a comforting, but quiet feeling. we must seek the confidence within ourselves to discover the moment we have all the tools we need to set our sights on a more distant horizon.
anyway, i like how distant this song feels. it gives us room to explore our own thoughts, instead of imposing us onto an impressive auteur rollercoaster, forced to experience each musical hurtle, change, and drop with the immensity of gravity. Lonely Stroll X, by contrast, is true to its name.
