HEADPHONES STRONGLY RECOMMENDED

Inspired by sprite animations like SMBZ and OMM, this track attempts to detail a fight between two rivals duking it out once again. Except instead of watching the fight occur, you're listening to it happen. The track heavily relies on panning to try to the impression of a 2d space to fight in, so I recommend headphones.

Shoutout to the people at the TheSoundsResource and random youtube uploaders for the accessible sample and sfx rips to make stuff like this possible.

Made in Furnace using Capcom's QSound (sfx) and Yamaha's YMZ280B (backing track) chips. .vgm was converted to a .vgz using Maxim's VGMTools 2 and all samples use 8bit PCM in order to beat the filesize allegations.

Resubmitted again because I wasn't satisfied with the backing track. Changed it to be more thematically appropriate at the risk of making the song a cover (the backing track is a medley of Mario songs made in lsdj). Regardless, I think I'm done with this song for the time being.

regarding the backing track thing, that is indeed not allowed. you should resubmit your entry here without the copyrighted content in it, or consider just writing your own backing track and then sampling that to replace it. the rest of your entry is really creative and fun, so i'd hate to see it get downvoted or perhaps even deleted from the site for plagiarism/copyright concerns.

on one hand, my inner child who loved SMBZ growing up really adores this
but on other hand i'm worried about this being an illegal entry due to using blatantly copyrighted melodies and breaking the cover rule in the backing track so blatantly.

Y'all, this isn't a cover from start to finish. It just features a few cameos here and there. But they are not what 100% defines this entry.

It's not much different from OPM's, Jakerson's and my own entries.
