Are the efx like the scream and siren from the CM-32L rom?

Yes, indeed it is the CM-32L rom. E-6-C9 has all teh cool sound effects.

i don't think we are supposed to be using the CM-32L ROM, although as far as i can tell, the only difference is the presence of the SFX at the top of the drumkit. but it's technically a different device

kilowatt accidentally used it in this past winter chip and it did well, so maybe voters don't mind (i didn't mind in his entry personally, nor do i mind here)

i'd love for us to reach a consensus on whether it's actually ok to use those sounds though. i haven't done it because i presumed it illegal, but if they were usable, it would be the most exciting thing about making mt32 stuff to me

CM32L is a slightly different device - here's an old description of it from 1990

- "The CM32L uses Roland's famous LA synthesis and is based on the MT32, but it contains an expanded PCM memory capacity which is two and a half times larger than that of the MT32."

as near as i can tell though, the SFX are the only difference. maybe i should post a thread about it so we can figure out if it should be ok in the future

I dunno what all this chit chat about the cm32l is but I can say this track is super chill, really nicely done. I don't think the scream and siren really make or break anything :P

The screams and sirens are not part of the original mt32 rom I didnt really know the difference until I saw damifortunes comment lol. I have since changed teh rom back to mt32 only mode.
