The song itself is ok, but does it even leverage any FM synthesis?

Yes actually, the bassline is a waveshaped fm synth, and the main melody is a distorted fm synth with all the other stuff.

oh yayy some fartbass! (in case you hadn't noticed from my own entries, I'm a fartbass fan...) Nice big atmosphere with all that heavy reverb, I bet this would sound really big played loudly through club monitors. Although I think the snare gets a bit lost with that much reverb, and might benefit from being brought up closer in the mix (the verb tail sounds great, but the initial hit/snap needs more of the dry snare to come through) IMO... but sounds good either way if you decide to leave it as is so take my advice with a grain of salt lol. Also you may not realize this, but the sub is kind of phasing in and out in the intro (some of those bass notes are having the sub frequencies dropped); and also in the melody around 1:33, you hit an F on the bass/sub and then jump to a higher F octave (and then the D and A# follow that kind of octave pattern) the higher F octave notes are lacking a punch from the subs as well, but this is probably because the higher F octave notes don't really have much sub presence. Not sure what the sub phasing issue would be, but if worse comes to worse, in this sort of scenario you can always throw a solid sub in there as a new instrument, and low cut the subs from the main bass sound.

But anyway, really cool uplifting EDM stuff man! Keep it up, this could be in a commercial/tvshow/movie!

Needs less compressor, things get all wobbly in some parts...
