Ok, a lot of things to say here. I put a lot of effort in this track :D
First of all, it is inspired by Tilde story, written for the Hum VII. I wanted to start cool, like a morning with snow falling everywhere..
Then the wolves, and tension in the music. Here, before saying "It's a trap!" or else, I have to say the aim was to create an OST like the one in Celeste. So uncertain melody with a lot of change, piano, and big change of mood/rythm. You can listen "Scattered and Lost" from the OST for example to see what I mean.
And at the end, a transition to major and more cheerful mood as the danger is gone.
I follow some rules:
- Non violent battle, that mean more action / escape like in Celeste game/OST
- The kick is regular when it is calm, and go wild when there is tension
- Drums is a 808 drum kit
- This time nearly no SNES soundfont, only a glokenspiel at the end in reference to my last track^^
- Some references: in the intro, I play the 3 first chord notes/chord of Aerith theme from FF7, and at the end, a few notes from FF prelude.
- for the snowey ambiance, I used high NES notes with delay and played a melody in the style of Celeste (or I tried? I think I did)
- Of course, some noise with white noise and a filter
