They came with their yellow tanks to rip and flatten the earth. Their trucks carried dirt that once housed us and poured it on top of the swamps to fill them. The behemoth men laughed as they tore our homes apart with horrible machinery. Some of the trees where we lived were loaded up and taken away and others were ground up and spit right back out on the soil from which they grew.

The sounds of devastation have been deafening and relentless, but we will be small and fearful woodland creatures no more. The weapons and machinery that have killed us for for consumption, for profit, and for sport have been repossessed in the night. Tomorrow will be the final day of work in this forest.
