Kinda burned out at the end on this one, pretty interesting to jump between XG & LA synthesis on the mt-32— they're both very powerful, but the workflow, limitations and strengths differ so much.
Captured from Yamaha MU10.
The name turned into a moment in a story as I worked on this, so here that is too:

We made the ascent safely. Finally. After years of building and improving our engine design, losing so many pilots in the process, watching helplessly as they shot upward into the clouds and then plummeted back down.
There had been an electric sense of optimism in the air this morning, it felt like a sure sign that today was the day we would finally see with our own eyes, just what was above the cloud-edge. All the fables might finally be put to rest, we could advance and take ownership of our destiny, look our ancestral siblings in the eye for the first time.
The engine strained and sputtered as we hit the highest pressure system, surrounded now by white vapor. We prayed silently for the machine to hold.. and it did. We were through! It was so sudden and bright and expansive, the shock and realization of what we had just achieved left us stunned. We could hardly take it in.
A brilliant vision of buzzing life, far beyond what we could have imagined was laid out before us. The sprawling cities among the clouds were seemingly endless, as far as the eye could perceive. Above it all loomed the Skytower, dreadful in its stark majesty against the clear sky.
We are here. The reality of our circumstance is coming into focus with jagged clarity— now, we are alone in a world which we have no connection to, one which may not want us. But we carry the strength of our predecessors, all the landfolk who risked everything to make it to where we are. Our resolve is firm, our will to bridge the two worlds shall carry us through any trial we might face. We fly our beleaguered vessel toward the Skytower, filled with hope and tears of joy in our eyes, come what may.
