The mixing could (and should!) definitely use more work, it's really dry, no compression, balancing isn't quite right, etc.

but asikwuspulse is right; this rocks!

sadly, i know zero about mixing so that'll probably stay as it is in that regard - feedback is appreciated though! if i give it a go and like the result i'll be sure to resubmit :)

my favorite part is the guitar solo coming in at around 3:10 !!

im curious what your process is because this jams hard.

thanks!!
basically i was playing around with the Roland XV-5080 VSTi with a midi controller, experimenting with stuff, which led to most of the ideas you hear in the song; coming up with chord progressions that flowed well from the previous one, and melodies that fit the chords and sounded (hopefully) catchy (and then building up on top of them by sequencing the rest).
when i repeated some section i made sure to have some minor changes so, while it felt familiar, it also felt a bit "new" somehow (i.e. less boring)

for the guitar solo, i wanted it to sound natural/liveplayed but i cant play keyboard well at all, so what i did was:
-sequence a draft of the solo
-slow down the bpm massively
-record takes that could be as small as 8 notes
-record another take only for the modwheel usage
-LOTS of manual adjustments afterwards

hope this helps! i can try to go into further detail if you want :D

i used a midi keyboard for recording (as described above); the guitar instrument for the solo is "COSM Searing" off of Roland XV-5080, and the rhythm guitar is "R&R Chunk" (also from the XV-5080) + OSL Chorus

really neat method, also, great execution! this sounds awesome! though as mentioned, you could probably make it sound even better with some mixing to bring the instruments out more, maybe if you release this on an album or somethin in the future

Echoing what everyone else has said here, this really rocks but the mixing leaves a lot to be desired. From my listening the biggest thing is the main synth melody voice (starting around 26s in) doesn't stand out enough compared to the rest of the voices, so maybe it could use more volume or a stronger attack? The guitar solo at 3:07 on the other hand is pretty clear/distinguishable in the mix.

Take this with a grain of salt though, dunno if my understanding of mixing and mastering is accurate at all :D
