I've wanted to make a chiptune for a few years; I had a SMS 2 growing up and still have the tunes stuck in my head. Even though DefleMask is great, and the documentation excellent, I wasn't prepared for how much work goes into getting the notes to fit. I've gained a lot of respect for the musicians (past and present) who are able to make memorable tunes despite the technical limitations.

Good first tune, and welcome to BotB!! \.o./
Sounds like some "1st level in a platformer"-type VGM here. :p

Welcome man! Nice first tune :D. I agree with Quirby. Very classic VGM sound which is always a plus in my book. I look forward to more from you :). Keep up the good work.

Thanks heaps, stewboy, Jredd (and Quirby64). As a first timer I was certain I'd make a big gaff and get pulled up for it. Anyway, I appreciate you taking it easy on me. I certainly admire the genre even more for having had a go at it. It's been a strenuous left brain/right brain workout, and surely that's a good thing:)

Hey growley - sure! I grew up near Fremantle; most people I knew either had a Commodore 64 or a Master System 2 (or Atari 2600). My sister's friend had an NES with a pirate multi-game cart...and some guy from tee-ball had one as well, but that was it for Nintendo. They were definitely available, but I have a feeling they were pricier (and the games came in cardboard boxes - lame.)

Hey mang that's awesome, always glad to see others just getting into chip tracking! Keep it up, it will all come together a lot faster the more you persist. Nice work on your early track!

Hi here! Nice work!
As it has been pointed out already, I feel the lead is slightly too loud, and you should work on the volume balance overall. Also, that bleeping sound behing the lead doesn't bring much in the upper register, you could try to lower it an octave or make it into an accompaniement (it sounds okay in the mid section, because it's lower). It's a primitive composition rule, nothing should interfere with the lead ^.^

Good luck for your next works!
