The year is 2XXX, and the world is a very diverse place. Several chips and tunes of all types of all types live in the Personal Collective, a world they have called home since the creation of their existence. Despite the several mini nations that exist in the collective, three nations have ruled dominant for as long as time can remember:

The Super National System believes the world should be run under the guidance of the sample, a snippet of sound pre recorded that can be used to make a more complete sound. Due to the open ended nature of their policy, the SNS has remained the most diverse nation, and they have even started outsourcing samples to other nations, which has been widely debated.

The Mega Syndicate believes in the power of Frequency Modulation, and while they weren't the first to invent it, they have perfected it into a consumable science. Several civilians insist on the unique properties of the tool, and propaganda from this nation is often the most prevalent. A unique factoid is that certain bisectors of the nation still use the ancient (yet effective) technology from the long forgotten land of Texas.

While not as recognized as the previous two mentioned, the Wave Nation of the Personal Collective (abbreviated to WNPC) have equally played an important role to the current climate of the the collective. Although they have what foreigners consider to be more "limited" wavetable technology, the WNPC is highly resourceful and have managed to push said technology to a level comparable to the other two nations. Because of their ingenuity, they still maintain a high control of the eastern mini nations.

Although these nations have had their differences, they have lived in harmony for as long as the Personal Collective has been a concept...

...until now.

Due to an unexplainable event, all three nations now want complete control over the Personal Collective, and they will attempt to gain it in any way. Unique tricks of warfare using their own hardware, propaganda poems and posters, in a now divided world like this one, the best thing you can do is pick a side.

BOTB: CIVIL WAR is an attempt at creating (friendly) war between the members of BOTB. Users should join the battle with a side in mind, and that side should ideally be stuck with and defended to the death. Each nation represents a common and popular format on BOTB:

-The SNS represents SNES/Super Famicom entries.

-The MS represents Sega Genesis/Mega Drive entries.

-and the WNPC represents TurboGrafx16/PC Engine entries.

These entries shouldn't be directly war-themed but should instead showcase the strengths of your selected format not present in the other two formats.

Don't know what side to pick? Consider checking out the Visuall and plaintext formats, which should convince you to pick a certain side. They can be posters, poems, loosely based historical artwork, etc.. (this might not be a part of the actual battle considering I'm already kinda pushing it with having three widely different formats in the same battle so yeah)

After it's all said and done, there will be no technical winner, but rather a story that can be told through BOTB lexicon for years to come.
