^ I can totally get behind this. I don't necessarily think games need challenge as a requirement (I mean hell, I enjoy visual novels (a genre which inherently has little to no challenge at all) and I still consider them games lol). You could make this game more story-driven while still keeping its escapism atmosphere. (For example, giving each of the characters you talk to more of a backstory and have it contribute to the game's overall plot and have each of the characters develop as the game progresses.) However, I also understand how incredibly difficult this would be to do within the 48 hour time limit.
I think maybe this wasn't the best sort of game to do for a short jam like this, but I think this has a lot of potential! I think if you guys continue to work on this after the jam, taking the suggestions I gave, this could end up being a very successful game! You could pull it off without adding any sort of "challenge" to it as well.
That said, this is still my 2nd favorite entry out of the ones I've played so far. I definitely get the escapism vibe you were going for with this entry. (I could totally lose myself in this game for hours flying around in the hub and listening to the music. The atmosphere is so good. <3)
