Here are some comments from our voice actors:

BlueNoc: This is probably the most ambitious and fun song project I have ever attempted. Everyone was so talented and really did an amazing job on their sections.

Vav: thanks to all my friends both inside and outside this project, special thanks to bluenoc who basically made this whole thing happen, and thanks to puke7 who unwittingly gave me a small strange tribe at a time in my life where i was truly unmoored and needed something to hold onto, botb is a force for good

mirageofher: aah, this is not fair... it was such a fun collab, i will want to continue in botb for a long time now... well, maybe i will fade back in eventually to be with my friends once again... ;3
also holimoli,,, bluenoc's old man voice is so cute uwu

Lumby: holy bajeebulones this was a ride
big thank you to bluenoc and everyone for this project, this was a ton of fun to do :D/

OPM: "Taking part in this historical documentary was a very fun endeavour indeed! I hope you people and pigeons listening in enjoy it as much as we did :3 And I want to thank Blue, Vav, Mirage, Lumby and Castle for being awesome people!
Pigeon fact 114: Pigeons can comprehend abstract math. They are capable of numerical reasoning, an ability that was previously believed to only be held by primates."

Castle: The was the biggest and funniest collab I did, very glad I joined this crazy project. Dungeon synth is an interesting soundtracky genre, it was a bit challenging to do forest or battle but I did my best. Hope you enjoy it!

alright so:
always cool to see so many people working together to create one big piece. very happy to see this collab exists!
i like the idea and had a lot of fun listening to it heh :D

i think it wouldve been better to release this one as a bonus or whatever, focussing more on the music itself. from what i can hear, the music that plays in the background of the story is mostly very great dungeon synth music... or could be if it was more developed and not switching every minute to another piece of music.

i personally think it was very clear that this was a battle about the genre dungeon synth,, not just dungeon-related audio-pieces...
of course you can argue that stretching the limits and all that stuff is cool, but for me, its missing the point. we should have a storytime-battle or whatever and entries like this would get the highest score possible from me.

i can see how much love and time went into this. it will clearly stay in my mind for a while and im sure i will come back to this a lot. its awesome to see what botb's community can come up with.

please dont take this all1 personally, i hope i explained the reasons why. rules are not always there to get exploited in every way possible.

low votes are fine kleed, but aren't all 1's a little harsh for a non troll entry? x) it IS dungeon synth as you say, albeit dungeon synth is the soundtrack and therefore more of a background product, it's playing by the rules.

Glad you liked it tho, it was definitely an extremely fun project.

This is truly Epic, I don't care what kleeder says (all7). Its beautiful and ascended, a true piece of art. The story was very touching and well crafted by the end.... I could even cry. Getting to hear all my favorite Playas voice acting and going all out is heart warming. Thank you for the shout out, all of you are my homies FOR LIFE!!!

i've already been saying this in discord buuut just for clarity on botb as well

opm as much as i want to agree with you, dungeon synth as a background product does not make the entire product dungeon synth inheritably in some people's eyes. that's like saying a noir radio drama is also a jazz album because its ost is jazz. i can atvl say that, while i did have fun with this project and am grateful for the experience that bluenoc has given me, kleeder's view is a fair one to make and if he votes it all1, far be it from me or anyone else to chide him for voting the way he does.

i have to admit, be it a major like spring tracks where anything goestm or one that allows for such a project, i feel like it'd be more widely accepted than it is here. this was simply an experiment in what could be done with such a theme, and if some people think that it falls outside the bounds of such a theme, then that's what they think. this is a democracy after all. if anything, i end up agreeing with kleeder in a lot of areas, since the genre of dungeon synth is pretty musically rigid and the theme really left room for that alone. sure, i think all1's are pretty strong voting, but it's not like he's doing it to spite the crew. in fact, i find it more respectable and admirable to come up to us and tell us exactly why he thinks the vote he gives is just.

now, of course i think that it's alright for some experimentation in battle of the bits. the reason why for that is because it's exciting to see what limits can be broken and what limits cannot; not only that, but what people would think, are thinking, and will think about what we made in the end. it's why the site thrives in the first place, and it's why i'm grateful for this experience: it gave me a chance to participate in something that pushed the limits of what can be considered legal, and that i cannot forget.

if anyone, not even just kleed, happens to vote all1 on it, i can respect that. hell, kleeder's comment is enough to make me write this long-winded essay of essays. that's because it means what we all did creating this has illicited a unique reaction and individualized thinking on the limits of submission on the website, even if it's just a tiny bit in some vague direction. it's enough to make me smile, even if the connotation with the vote is inheritably negative. :)

tl;dr: kleed's right, democracy is the law, experimentation is king and goodnight detroit

It's ok to have some natural noise from the microphone. IMO the noise reduction is too intense and caused some harsh artifacts on the voices. I'm sure a long track like this needed to be taken down in quality for the mp3 upload too, so that probably made it worse.

I like this kind of hardcore nerding out on Botb and I'm sure this was fun to make. The voices just needed some fine tuning for the final version or better microphones if possible.

Most of the background music is dungeon synth imo.

We did this one in one week and learned a lot in the process :) This was the first time I recorded "lyrics" for example. Also, that was a lot of work and time spent on it, I needed 3 days of recording only for my lines ahah. All I learned will help me next time, the the vocal comping technique for example.
And you are right, the fun part is priceless in this process: I have not regret :p
Thanks for your comment sc
