A TIMELESS FEELING...
My first Battle of the Bits track using the Roland JV-1010 64VOICE SYNTHESIZER "Session" onboard + Expandable synthesizer with the Roland SR-JV80-10 BASS & DRUMS Expansion Board installed! (Whew! What a mouthful...) This synth has been a dream for me ever since I learned about the JV series of synthesizers, and what a wonderful synth it is! Each instrument had to be multi-tracked due to its immense power causing some... well, let's just say MIDI timing starts to stutter in Performance mode (it was running a 90s processor, what can I say?), but the sound of this thing more than makes up for it. No external effects were used, however the synth has been multi-tracked to avoid polyphony and the aforementioned MIDI timing issues, as well as to boost the volume of a couple things in post.
With that out of the way, I hope your ears are ready... I worked pretty hard on this!

I couldn't quite piece together what inspired this song. I randomly heard the main inspiration for this song today, so I can finally give a full breakdown of the origins of this song!
This song is very much in the late-70s early-80s pop-rock style. Specifically Elton John's "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart", which the drum style is ripped from directly, as well the rhythm of the chorus (used at 0:55). The piano throughout is in the style of "Rocket Man," but is more directly inspired by "Video Killed The Radio Star" by The Buggles. The rest is probably too subconscious to recall lol
