it's time for your linguistics edutainment!

Evolving from the work of BotBrs who made the Old Batbia language (thread, article), this work is (1) a grammar text, (2) an intro-to-linguistics (very) crash course, and (3) a learner's workbook for East Lowlands Batbia, a dialect spoken by a far-flung community some 400 years after Old Batbia's original conception and descended from that original tongue.

Use all the preceding and surrounding text and explanations to fill in the blanks! Apologies in advance for the amount of reading that may be involved. I hope you'll at least find it interesting and take home some appreciation for linguistics, conlangs, and East Lowlands Batbia itself. Maybe we can all start speaking Batbia for real this time....

konamedek kotee ikoli ek milet. todeem kekset sika, nomaanju sa kekse sika, aji medeek kotee demaanju tapiri ise bappii. ka nomaanju kekse gake.

(using double vowels instead of accent or macron bc it's easier to type. also i hope my grammar is okay!)
